In light of recent events, my promised October series is postponed. I will meet you next Monday with – you guessed it – a post for Tom.
My heart is heavy.
The tragedy of Las Vegas reminds us that, in the words of Jakob Dylan, evil is alive and well. Yet, Christ, too, is alive and well, and his is the victory. Even now, as loved ones pick up broken pieces and view the world differently, the Lord is “close to the broken-hearted and saves those crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:18).
I believe he is close to the Petty family and the Heartbreakers tonight. In the midst of such desperate darkness, Holy Spirit, move, I pray.
I pray for healing of dying bodies and for the saving of lost souls.
